The 5-Stripes are focused on the upcoming game after defeating Orlando City SC 2-0. The team will play Toronto FC at BMO Field on Saturday, March 23. There will be a lineup change on Saturday compared to the previous two games because six Atlanta United players were called up for the FIFA international window. Thiago Almada, Ajani Fortune, Giorgos Giakoumakis, Bartosz Slisz, and Caleb Wiley represent their respective nations.

Jamal Thiaré, the striker, and fullback Ronald Hernández discussed with the local media on Tuesday how the club hopes to maintain the momentum from back-to-back home victories and the possibilities that some players have been given.

Prior to Atlanta United exercising its option to sign Ronald Hernández in 2022, the player participated in 2021 loan games with the Club. The elder voice of the team, particularly for the younger players, is the Venezuelan defender. He thinks the Toronto game will be a great opportunity for other players to demonstrate their development.

“This is a good opportunity for them, and for all of us,” said Hernández when asked about how the remaining players would approach Saturday’s match.

With the roster changes that occurred during the preseason, the team was able to get a taste of different matchups that they can use against Toronto. Some players will see increased playing time, though the team is confident in their ability to continue the momentum and chemistry shown in the past two wins at home against New England Revolution and Orlando City SC.

Forward Jamal Thiaré is optimistic that he can assist the squad win another game following a strong preseason. Atlanta United’s first goal came from a late equalizer by Thiaré in a friendly match against Memphis 901 FC in early February. The low-driven shot was only a small sample of his potential contributions to the team.

There’s still a focus on this being a team effort even with multiple guys out. The whole of its components make up the club. It will require impressive performances from whoever is starting to help the club reach its objectives.

The emphasis throughout training this week will be on all the improvements from the team’s second and third games of the season. Having a great road record is Atlanta United’s goal for this season. They aim to defeat Toronto on the road on Saturday.
