ATLANTA, GEORGIA—A late goal from striker Dom Dwyer in the 88th minute allowed the visiting Atlanta United to eked out a 2-2 draw against the home team Nashville SC on Saturday, May 21, at GEODIS Park. Down 2-1, with the game down to the waning minutes in the second half, Dwyer scored a late-minute goal to allow the visitor to get a valuable point on the road. Argentine midfielder Thiago Almada continues his stellar play for his team with another goal in their game.

The goal was Almada’s third of the season. United head coach Gonzalo Pineda is happy with their draw and hopes they can finally nail down a win in their next games. “I think it was a reward for the players’ heart and passion to come back in a tough and difficult game,” Pineda said.

Earlier, Luiz Araújo allowed the home team, United, to remain unbeaten at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday, May 15. United’s goal allowed a 2-2 draw against the visiting New England Revolution. The draw also allowed the team to stretch their unbeaten streak at home to 13 games.

The home team started hot as it scored the first goal in the match at 14 minutes from Argentine midfielder Thiago Almada. However, the visitor could equalize and achieve another goal and take a 2-1 lead in the game. Playing in front of their fans, United tried hard to equalize, which they did on a goal from Araujo. As the score was tied at 2-2, both teams tried to score a goal, but their efforts were futile.
