ATLANTA, GEORGIA—Atlanta United 2 FC star striker Aiden McFadden is one happy and proud man these days.
This scenario developed after McFadden is part of the United Soccer League (USL) Championship team of the week.
McFadden got the honor after he lead his team to a 1-1 draw against the home team Indy Eleven last October 2 at Michael A. Carroll Stadium.
Down 0-1 in the dying seconds of the match, McFadden scored a goal 89th minute to tie the game at one point apiece as the buzzer sounded.
With eight goals this season, McFadden set the team record for most goals in a single season.
The come from behind draw also allowed United 2 FC to get one point on the draw.
The draw is the second straight for United 2 FC.
Playing in front of their fans, United 2 FC only managed a 1-1 draw against the visiting Louisville City FC at 7:30 on September 29 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
United 2 FC played inspired and aggressive in the entire game in both scoring and defense.
In the 40th-minute, Josh Bauer put United 2 FC on the board with a goal.
However, 11 minutes later Louisville City FC’s Cameron Lancaster scored a goal to tie the game at one point apiece.
United 2 FC tried to score another point in the waning seconds of the game but the tough defense of the visitor did not allow them.
United 2 FC (7-13-9, 31 points) hopes to get back to its winning ways when they Sporting KC II on Oct. 13 at Children’s Mercy Field (ESPN+, 8:00 p.m. ET).
