Burke

ATLANTA, GEORGIA—A former remarkable player of Georgia State University Panthers Women’s Soccer Team has recently signed a professional soccer contract to continue playing soccer after the end of her collegiate career.
According to reports, Emily Burke has signed a contract to play professionally for Columbus Rapids FC.
Burke as team captain carried her team to a modest performance at Sun Belt Conference.
She is 18 matches and was one of 14 Panthers to score a goal as a part of Georgia State’s balanced scoring attack.
As a junior, Burke recorded two assists while starting 12 games and appearing in all 15 of a COVID-19 shortened season. She anchored the GSU midfield while helping lead the Panthers to a historic 10-3-2 season, outscoring opponents 25-16.
GSU Panthers head coach Ed Joyce is very happy with the pro-contract of his former player.
“We are excited to see Emily continue her soccer career on the professional level,” Joyce said.
“In her four years at Georgia State, Emily truly represented what it means to be a student-athlete on and off the field and I have no doubt she will continue to be successful at the next level,” Joyce added.
Along with her success on the field, Burke was a four-time President’s List honoree and three-time Dean’s List honoree for her work in the classroom.
Before the pro-contract of Burke, two other former Panthers have also recently signed pro-contracts.
