ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The injury problem continues to hound the ongoing Major League Soccer season of Atlanta United. On Tuesday, Atlanta United announced that defender George Campbell would be out 2-3 weeks after sustaining an adductor injury during the club’s 0-0 draw at Chicago Fire FC on July 30.

Campbell’s injury is a blow for the team since he plays exceptionally well this year. The team is already missing the services of veteran goalie Brad Guzan and defender Miles Robinson, who are already out of the ongoing MLS season. In their recent scoreless draw against Chicago Fire FC, Josef Martínez and Thiago Almada played aggressively in the first half as starters.

Midfielder Santiago Sosa also returned to the starting XI for the first time since the April 24 match at Inter Miami. However, despite a solid starting roster, the team still failed to manufacture a point in the first half. In the second half, the troops of Gonzalo Pineda continued their aggressive play, but their efforts were still not enough to score a point for the team. United hopes to return to its winning groove when they host the dangerous Seattle Sounders on August 6 at the Mercedes-Benz stadium.
