ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The dream of Atlanta Rovers FC to start their United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) Georgia Premier Division Fall Season on a winning note ended in a nightmare.
Rovers FC suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Limeno Georgia at the South Gwinnett Stadium evening of September 12.
Emmanuel Navarro and Fidel Mba Mba Nsi provided the two goals for Rovers FC in a losing cause.
Meanwhile, the three winning goals for Georgia were scored by Sandro Soares who scored two goals, Kevin Garcia and Eric Dubon.
Before their first game, Rovers FC coach Martin Clark expressed excitement for his team as they start their journey in the highly competitive UPSL Southeast Conference Georgia Premier Division.
“We are excited to be competing in the UPSL and look forward to getting the opportunity to bring our brand of football to the league. Our team is young and will have to work hard to succeed in this very competitive league,” Clark told Atlanta Soccer News.
Rovers FC hopes to nail its first win when they face the Savannah Clovers FC on September 18 at the Memorial Stadium.
