Big news for Atlanta’s soccer scene! FIFA has officially announced that Atlanta will be one of 11 cities hosting the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup next summer. From June 15 to July 13, 2025, the world’s biggest club football tournament will land in the United States, featuring 32 elite teams from across the globe in what promises to be the largest stand-alone club event ever.
Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium (MBS) will once again be at the heart of the action, adding the FIFA Club World Cup to its growing list of international mega-events. MBS has quickly become a prime venue for world-class soccer, and this tournament will see the best clubs from every corner of the planet—spanning six confederations including AFC, CAF, Concacaf, CONMEBOL, OFC, and UEFA—competing for the prestigious title.
Doug Roberts, VP of Stadium Events and Premium Sales at MBS, said it best: “Mercedes-Benz Stadium has quickly become known for hosting the biggest soccer matches in the U.S., and we are excited to add the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup to the roster.”
The specific matches, dates, and teams set to compete in Atlanta will be announced after the draw this December, but the anticipation is already building among local soccer fans.
This announcement is just the latest in a series of blockbuster events coming to Georgia. Following the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, Atlanta will also play host to the FIFA World Cup in 2026, and major events like the College Football Playoff National Championship in January 2025 and the NCAA Final Four in 2031.
