Atlanta United 2 established its rhythm early and found the breakthrough in the 20th minute thanks to excellent combination play.
Mohamed Cisset started the move with a well-weighted through ball that released Cameron Dunbar down the left side. Dunbar delivered a dangerous pass into the middle, where Kovac cleverly redirected the ball with a backheel into the path of Daniel Chica.
With space inside the penalty area, Chica made no mistake, firing a first-time finish past the Inter Miami goalkeeper to give Atlanta a deserved 1-0 lead.
The hosts continued to apply pressure throughout the remainder of the first half, forcing multiple corner kicks and creating additional scoring opportunities while limiting Miami’s attack.
Suarez-Couri Sparks Second-Half Explosion
Atlanta wasted little time extending its advantage after halftime.
Enzo Dovlo collected a loose ball on the right flank before driving into the penalty area and finding Ignacio Suarez-Couri in front of goal. The forward calmly finished into the upper corner for his first goal of the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season.
Only moments later, Atlanta added a third.
After Chica won possession in midfield, Suarez-Couri helped launch another quick attack by sending Andrew Jardines into space. Jardines attempted a cross across the goalmouth that was inadvertently turned into the net by an Inter Miami defender, giving Atlanta a commanding three-goal cushion.
Kovac Continues Outstanding Season
Arif Kovac capped another productive performance in the 62nd minute.
Following a long pass from Suarez-Couri, Dovlo capitalized on a defensive mistake before squaring the ball to Kovac, who calmly finished into an open net.
The goal marked another important contribution for one of Atlanta United 2’s most consistent attacking players, bringing his combined goals and assists total to 16 this season.
Inter Miami managed a late consolation goal through Alejandro Flores in the closing minutes, but it did little to spoil a dominant evening for the home side.
