ATLANTA, GEORGIA—Playing on the road remains an Achilles heel for Atlanta United 2.
United 2 suffered its second straight defeat on the road after being demolished by the home team San Antonio FC at Toyota Field in San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday, July 16 (9:00 p.m., ESPN+).

The home team was on a mission in the game as they effectively stopped United 2 from scoring a goal. Last July 9, United 2 suffered another defeat on the road as they got waylaid by FC Tulsa 1-2 at ONEOK Field in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The home team opened up the scoring in the game with a goal in the 17th minute after a back-and-forth beginning to the match.

United 2’s 17-year-old Luke Brennan scored in the 37th minute to tie the score at one a piece. As the two teams tightened their defense, Brian Brown found the winner for Tulsa in the 79th minute, chesting down a half-cleared ball and scoring with a left-foot shot from the edge of the box.

United 2 (4-15-3, 15 points) hopes to end their two-game losing streak when they travel to Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Florida, to take on the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Saturday, July 23 (7:30 p.m., ESPN+).
