ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The visiting Atlanta United 2 FC survived a goal deficit to salvaged a draw against the home team OKC Energy FC on Sunday at the Taft Stadium.
The United 2 played aggressively in the first few minutes of the game but it was the Energy who scored the first goal of the match courtesy of Villyan Bijev.
As the two teams battled it out, the United two were able to score two goals courtesy of Matías Benítez who made his first goal for the club in his debut, and Homegrown Tyler Wolff who scored his professional goal.
The draw is huge for the United 2 since it put them within the striking distance in the leaderboard of the young United Soccer League (USL) Central division.
The draw is also sweet for United 2 since it came after they beat OKC on the same venue 1-0 last May 8.
United 2 hopes to get back to its winning form when they host the visiting FC Tulsa Wednesday, May 19 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium (ESPN+, 7:30 p.m. ET).
