ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The two-game road losing streak of the Atlanta United 2 FC is now over.
The visiting United 2 FC eked out a 1-0 win over the home team Indy Eleven on Sept. 4 at IU Michael A. Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium.
United 2 FC star striker Aiden McFadden provided the lone and winning goal for the visitor in the 26th minute of the game.
McFadden tried to put away his second of the night in the 74th minute. The West Chester native capitalized off a poor touch from an Indy defender and spun with the ball towards the goal to set up a left-footed shot outside the box, but it continued to rise over the crossbar.
United 2 FC goalkeeper Ben Lundgaard also played well in the game as he recorded his second clean sheet of the season.
United 2 FC (7-9-7, 28 points) hopes to make it a back-to-back win when they host the dangerous Charleston Battery on Sept. 15 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium (ESPN+, 7:30 p.m. ET).
