ATLANTA, GEORGIA—Playing at home for three consecutive games last week proved to be unlucky for Atlanta United 2 FC at the Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
This scenario developed after United 2 FC suffered a 1-0 defeat against the visiting Sporting Kansas City II on their third game at home last July 10.
The two teams fought toe to toe in the first half, but Enoch Mushagalusa was able to penetrate the tough defense of United 2 FC and score a goal in the 38th minute of the game.
Sensing danger the home team played more aggressively in the second half, however, the defense of the visitor proved to be too tough to handle.
At the end of the regulation play, Kansas City II was declared the winner.
Before their defeat, United 2 FC has also failed to snatch a win in their previous two games at home last week.
United FC 2 (3-5-5, 14 points) hopes to regain back its winning ways when they visit Louisville City FC on July 17 at Lynn Family Stadium (ESPN+, 7:30 p.m. ET).
