ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The Atlanta United 2 FC played inspired in front of its fans as they recorded their largest margin of victory in their 5-0 win against the visiting FC Tulsa on Wednesday night at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
Aiden McFadden was the man of the match for United 2 as he scored two goals in the team’s morale-boosting victory against the first-place team in the Central Division.
Aside from McFadden also scoring goals for United 2 are Chris Allan, Tyler Wolff, and Coleman Gannon.
The five-goal performance is the fourth time to happen for the club in the United Soccer League championships.
Playing its first game at home, United 2 was very focused on winning from the get-go until the final minutes of their game.
Coming off a win, Tulsa tried to play aggressively but their efforts proved insufficient to derail the home team a victory.
United 2 hopes to sustain their winning momentum when they host the Memphis 901 FC Sunday, May 23 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium (ESPN+, 3:30 p.m. ET).
