ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The dream of the home team Atlanta United 2 FC to extend their winning streak at the Fifth Third Bank Stadium on Wednesday night did materialize as planned.
The United 2 FC barely escaped a loss with a 1-1 draw against the visiting Charleston Battery.
Jackson Conway provided the lone goal for the home team in their draw against the Battery.
The home team started strong in the game as Conway scored in the 11th minute of the game.
The visiting Battery tied it in the 60th minute with a goal from Robbie Crawford.
After the 1-1 tie, the home team played more aggressively but the tough defense of the battery stopped them from scoring another goal.
The United 2 FC (7-9-8, 29 points) hopes to get back to their winning ways when they host the dangerous Tampa Bay Rowdies on Sept. 18 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium (ESPN+, 7:30 p.m. ET).
