ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The dream of the visiting Atlanta United 2 FC to finally get a win when they face the home team Birmingham Legion FC on August 4 at BBVA Field has ended on a nightmare.
This scenario developed after the Legion beat United 2 FC in their second meeting for almost a week 1-3.
In the last meeting of the two on July 31 at the BBVA Compass Stadium, United 2 FC only managed to eke out a 2-2 draw against the home team.
The United 2 FC started strong in the game as Phillip Goodrum put the visitor on the driver’s seat in the first nine minutes of the game.
However, after scoring the initial goal of the team, United 2 FC went cold and allowed the home team to score the next three goals and seal their win.
While the United 2 FC come prepared in the game, the home team showed more heart and determination in the game.
The United 2 FC (4-7-6, 18 points) hopes to get back on their feet when they host the Indy Eleven, August 8 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium (ESPN+, 7:30 p.m. ET).
