Ramzi Qawasmy, a defender available on free agency, has joined Atlanta United 2. The 24-year-old defender played for Louisville City FC in the 2023 season after attending Providence College for five seasons. With a team option for 2025, Qawasmy’s contract is valid through the MLS NEXT Pro season in 2024.
Qawasmy played two games, including a start, for Louisville City FC in the USL Championship, his most recent team. Qawasmy had a successful collegiate career at Providence College before joining Louisville. From 2018 to 22, he made 88 appearances—all starts—and scored seven goals there. Qawasmy was selected to the 2022 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List and was an All-BIG EAST honoree four times. Qawasmy also participated in USL League Two play for Reading United (2021) and West Chester United (2022) while attending college.
