ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The visiting Atlanta United 2 suffered its second straight defeat after losing to the home team Memphis 901 FC 2-5 at the AutoZone Park in Memphis, Tennessee, on June 4. The visiting United 2 started strong as they opened the scoring through captain Robbie Mertz in the 18th minute.

However, the visitor failed to sustain their momentum as the home team could outscore them in the end. Earlier, the team fell to the visiting Rio Grande Valley FC 3-4 at the Fifth Third Bank Stadium on June 1. The home team had a chance to win the game as Mertz recorded a second-half brace to give Atlanta a one-goal lead.

However, the visiting Toros rallied with a pair of late goals to steal the three points. Despite the defeat, the team remains optimistic about their remaining regular-season games in the United Soccer League tournament. The team hopes to get back to its winning ways when they host the Loudoun United on Saturday, June 11 (7:30 p.m., ESPN+) at the Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
