ATLANTA, GEORGIA—After three successive losses on the road, the Atlanta United 2 hopes to get back to its winning ways when they host the dangerous Louisville City FC at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Kennesaw, Georgia, on Wednesday, May 4. The match is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET and streamed live on ESPN+.

United 2 needs to focus on both offense and defense in this game to end their losing streak. The home team also needs to play with determination and urgency to win. Last April 23, the visiting United 2 fell to the home team Pittsburgh Riverhounds, 4-0 at Highmark Stadium.

Last April 16, United 2 also fell to the home team, Indy Eleven, 1-2. United 2 striker Jackson Conway scored the lone goal for the team in their defeat. Before their loss on the road, the team suffered a tough 0-4 home defeat at the hands of Detroit City FC at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Kennesaw, GA, last April 9. United 2 is hoping to have a great USL Championship campaign this year since it is their last appearance in the league.

According to reports, United 2 will transfer to the Major League Soccer NEXT Pro in 2023. The new league aims to create an “integrated player pathway from MLS NEXT through to MLS first teams” by serving as a bridge from the Academies to the professional system. The league is scheduled to debut in March 2022.
