Atlanta United has dropped from.the top 10 in the latest Major League Soccer ranking.
Atlanta United is ranked at number 13.
It’s possible that Atlanta supporters hit the panic button following their home loss to Minnesota. Determining if those supporters are correct is difficult.
The Five Stripes have been battling with injuries, but their core statistics are still outstanding—best in the league—and they were only two terrible passes away from winning back-to-back games against FC Cincinnati and Philadelphia.
However, there seems to be an issue. Garth Lagerwey is still in control of the team and is aware of the underlying numbers, so the club will be more patient than the supporters, but the calls for change are becoming louder.
The high expectations people in Atlanta have, understandably enough, don’t mix well with great underlying data and poor performance.
