ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The Atlanta United barely avoided a three straight defeat on the road after they eked out a 2-2 draw against the home team and defending Major League Soccer champion New York City FC at the Yankee Stadium on July 3.

United FC veteran strikers Venezuelan Josef Martinez and Dom Dwyer provided the two goals for the team in the draw.
The visiting United are very focused on the game as head coach Gonzalo Pineda inserted his top stars Josef Martínez, Luiz Araújo, and Thiago Almada into the starting lineup. The decision to allow the three stars to play together worked wonders as the team played well in the first half.

However, despite their brilliance, the home team was still able to score two goals, which resulted in the draw. After a lackluster performance on the road, United hopes to get back on its feet when they host the red-hot Austin FC at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on July 9.
