ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The dream of Atlanta United FC to enter the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference playoffs for the fourth time since entering the league in 2017, could happen on Wednesday night when they visit the dangerous New York Red Bulls at the Red Bull Arena.
A win over the Red Bulls could give them three points and an outright playoff slot.
If they cannot eke out a win and will just settle for a draw they could still have a playoff slot if CF Montreal either draws or loses against Houston Dynamo.
To beat the Red Bulls Brazilian winger Luiz Araújo needs to continue his brilliant play and score another goal for his team on the road.
The team also needs to take full advantage in transition plays by looking for every chance to score.
Aside from scoring, United FC also needs to play tough defense and stop Red Bulls Polish striker Patryk Klimala from scoring.
This year, Klimala leads the team with eight goals and seven assists on the season.
United FC also needs to take advantage of the flanks with a continuous attack.
Araújo, Ezequiel Barco and Marcelino Moreno needs to be agressive and creative to score some points on the flanks.
