ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The Atlanta United FC hopes to end its three-game losing streak in Major League Soccer when they visit the dangerous Inter Miami CF on Sunday, 1 p.m. EDT at the DRV PNK Stadium.
Coming off its three straight quarterfinals exit at the Concacaf Champions League on Tuesday at the hands of the Philadelphia Union with an aggregate score of 4-1, the United is the underdog against the home team Miami CF.
While many oddsmakers put them as the underdog, the United FC remains optimistic that they can pull a surprise against Miami CF especially if 22-year-old Argentine midfielder Santiago Sosa will continue his fine play for the team.
Sosa scored the lone goal against the Union in their leg two quarterfinals faceoff at the CCL.
The goal is sweet for Sosa since it is his first-ever goal in the professional level after signing with the MLS ball club in February.
Aside from Sosa, the team of Gabriel Heinze also hopes for solid contributions from the other players of the team, especially from projected starting goaltender Brad Guzan.
Coming into the game against the Miami CF, the United will be missing three key players Matheus Rossetto, Alec Kann (injured), Mo Adams (injured).
The United 1-1-1, 5th in Eastern Conference is confident they can beat Miami CF 1-1-1, 6th in Eastern Conference in their first meeting of the MLS season with a good game plan, solid play, and teamwork.
