ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The visiting Atlanta United FC hopes to avoid a three-game losing streak when they face the CF Montreal on Wednesday at Stade Saputo (7:30 p.m., Bally Sports South, Sports Radio 92-9 The Game, La Mejor).
Despite their two-game losing streak, United FC (2-6-8, 14 points) is confident of their chances against Montreal since they have already beaten the latter 1-0 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on May 15 with a stoppage-time game-winner from Marcelino Moreno.
To bring down Montreal, Moreno needs to play solid once again for his team on Wednesday.
Aside from Moreno, United FC star striker Josef Martinez also needs to play solid for his team comes game time.
United FC interim coach Rob Valentino also needs to come up with a good game plan to ensure his team can finally end its losing streak.
United FC is also optimistic of their chances against Montreal since three of its top players George Bello, Brad Guzan and Miles Robinson are back after winning the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup with the United States Men’s National Team as well as Ezequiel Barco, who represented Argentina at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
