ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The dream of Atlanta United FC to regain its winning momentum ended in a nightmare after they suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the home team Chicago Fire FC at Soldier Field on July 3.
Coming into their game, the United FC are very confident since they have beaten the fire in their last meeting 3-1.
However, the Fire is well-prepared and very focussed as they play aggressively from the start and scored their first goal on the 34th minute courtesy of Argentine striker Ignacio Aliseda.
Aliseda was on fire for the Fire as he scored another goal before the first half ended to give the home team a comfortable 2-0 lead.
The visiting United tried to fight back in the second half but the Fire defenders spoiled all their attempts.
In the 58th minute, the Fire scored another goal courtesy of Przemyslaw Frankowski to put the game for good 3-0.
Despite their recent woes, United FC remains confident they can regain back their winning touch in their next few games.
The United FC (2-3-6, 12 points) returns to action Thursday to take on Nashville SC at Nissan Stadium (8:30 p.m., Bally Sports Southeast, Sports Radio 92-9 The Game, La Mejor).
