ATLANTA, GEORGIA—After dropping defensive specialist Fernando Meza, Atlanta United FC is reportedly eyeing attacking Argentine midfielder, Thiago Almada.
Media reports in Argentina revealed that United FC has already submitted a transfer bid for Almada who is expected to provide playmaking and scoring for the team.
The reports state that Atlanta is submitting a bid for 100 percent of the player’s future value,— somewhat of a rarity with these kinds of deals but similar to the agreement Atlanta had with Velez for Lautaro Giannetti this winter.
The report further added that when everything is fixed they hope to sign Almada to a four-year deal.
The United FC is in dire need of a new impact player since its ongoing Major League Soccer season looked very bad.
For the past eight games, the team has yet to win and has suffered successive defeats.
Despite their woes, the future still looks bright under interim head coach Rob Valentino.
