ATLANTA — Atlanta United announced Monday that the club has loaned forward Ashton Gordon to Chattanooga FC of MLS NEXT Pro for the duration of the 2026 MLS Regular Season.
The move allows the Atlanta United Homegrown to gain consistent first-team minutes as he continues his development at the professional level.
A Familiar Pathway for a Homegrown Product
Gordon joined the Atlanta United Academy in 2019 before signing his first professional contract with Atlanta United 2 on Jan. 29, 2024. The Decatur, Georgia native officially became a Homegrown Player on Jan. 1, 2025, reinforcing the club’s commitment to its academy-to-first-team pathway.
Over the 2024 and 2025 MLS NEXT Pro seasons, Gordon made 19 appearances for ATL UTD 2, scoring two goals while gaining valuable experience against professional competition.
First-Team Experience Already Earned
Gordon also earned opportunities with the Atlanta United First Team, making his senior debut on May 7, 2024, in a U.S. Open Cup match against Charlotte Independence. He went on to make two appearances during the tournament, showcasing his attacking potential on a larger stage.
The loan to Chattanooga FC positions Gordon to take the next step in his growth by competing regularly in MLS NEXT Pro throughout the 2026 season.
