Atlanta United received a boost in defense with the return of Ronald Hernández, who is available for selection against FC Cincinnati on Saturday, March 22. The Venezuelan fullback missed the last three matches with a quad injury but returned to full training this week, participating in contact drills.
With several center backs absent due to international duty, Hernández could be deployed as a right-sided center back in a back four or five. Matt Edwards is also an option, while head coach Ronny Deila hinted at utilizing a three-center-back formation.
