Atlanta United announced the signing of Spanish center back Juan Berrocal on loan from La Liga side Getafe CF through June 30, 2026, with an option for a permanent transfer. The 26-year-old will occupy an international roster slot, pending receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
Berrocal brings a wealth of experience from Spain, with 246 career appearances across La Liga, La Liga 2, Copa del Rey, and Europa League qualifying. Most recently, he made 19 La Liga appearances for Getafe in the 2024–25 season. He has also featured prominently for Eibar, Sporting Gijón, and CD Mirandés during his time in Spain.
“At 26 years old, he’s already played many games in Spain and we expect him to add competition and leadership to our backline,” said Atlanta United Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson.
A product of the Sevilla FC Academy, Berrocal debuted for the first team in Europa League qualifying in 2018 and has also represented Spain at the U-19 level.
