Atlanta United has officially announced the transfer of defender Pedro Amador to Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Be’er Sheva for an undisclosed transfer fee, ending the Portuguese fullback’s two-year stint with the Five Stripes.
Amador departs after becoming a dependable presence on Atlanta’s back line, contributing both defensively and offensively during his time in Major League Soccer.
Amador Leaves After Strong Spell in Atlanta
The Portuguese defender joined Atlanta United on July 1, 2024, arriving from Moreirense FC in Portugal.
During his time with the club, Amador made 47 MLS regular season and playoff appearances, starting 40 of those matches. His attacking contributions were equally valuable from the left flank, finishing with:

Known for his work rate, crossing ability and consistency at left back, Amador quickly established himself as a regular starter and became an important piece of Atlanta United’s defense.

Atlanta recently added experienced international defenders Júnior Alonso and Paulo Díaz, strengthening the back line with two veteran center backs following the FIFA World Cup.
The club now enters the remainder of the 2026 season with several options across its defensive unit, including Alonso, Díaz, Stian Gregersen, Enea Mihaj, Matthew Edwards, Tomás Jacob, Elías Báez, Ronald Hernández, Dominik Chong Qui, and Kaiden Moore, who remains on loan with the Philadelphia Union through the end of the season.
