Atlanta is getting ready to throw one giant soccer party — and Atlanta United wants every fan in the city to be part of it.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup rapidly approaching, Atlanta United FC officially announced a summer-long lineup of soccer celebrations, fan events, watch parties, and community activations designed to turn the city into one of the world’s biggest football festivals.
For longtime supporters of the Five Stripes, the announcement feels like the culmination of years of growth that transformed Atlanta into one of America’s true soccer capitals.
According to the club, celebrations will take place throughout metro Atlanta beginning in June and continuing through the World Cup, featuring public watch parties, youth soccer events, fan festivals, live entertainment, supporter gatherings, and special club appearances. Atlanta United says the goal is to unite communities across Georgia around the world’s biggest sporting event.
The centerpiece of the festivities will naturally revolve around Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which is scheduled to host eight FIFA World Cup matches — including a semifinal — during the summer tournament.
But Atlanta United’s vision goes far beyond downtown.
The club plans to bring soccer celebrations directly into neighborhoods throughout the metro area, highlighting the city’s diverse soccer culture and giving fans multiple ways to experience World Cup excitement even outside the stadium environment.
For Atlanta soccer fans, this is exactly the kind of atmosphere the city has spent years building toward.
Since joining MLS in 2017, Atlanta United has consistently led the league in attendance while helping establish one of the strongest supporter cultures in North America. Massive tifos, packed stadium crowds, and nonstop supporter energy have become defining parts of the city’s sports identity.
And now the entire world is about to experience it firsthand.
The celebration plans also connect with broader World Cup activities happening throughout Georgia. U.S. Soccer’s new Arthur M. Blank National Training Center in Fayetteville is already hosting national team operations, while Atlanta United’s Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground will serve as Uzbekistan’s official base camp during the tournament.
For many supporters, World Cup 2026 feels like more than just another sporting event.
It feels like Atlanta’s moment.
