Atlanta, ten incredible years have passed. It’s time to rejoice now! 🎉

Ten years have passed since Major League Soccer (MLS) declared on Tuesday, April 16, that it will be adding a franchise in Atlanta. Atlanta was officially announced as the 22nd MLS team in 2014. The team joined the MLS in 2017.

A live broadcast of the History of Atlanta Soccer podcast is being held in honor of Atlanta United’s tenth anniversary. The event is scheduled for Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Little Five Points’ Brewhouse Café. The podcast’s producer and host, local radio personality Jason Longshore, will emcee the live event, which starts at 7.

The event on Tuesday will be a happy reunion as we reflect on and exchange stories from the last ten years. Play-by-play commentator Mike Conti, former Atlanta United player and 2018 MLS Cup team member Greg Garza, Atlanta United employees, and representatives of the team’s official supporter clubs are among the special guests.

An episode of the History of Atlanta Soccer podcast, which you can follow and subscribe to on Apple Podcasts, will feature a live recording of the event later this week. Visit atlud.com/podcast to find out more about the podcast and to listen to past episodes.

Later this year, three segments on Atlanta United and additional episodes will be released.

So grab a beer, put on your Five Stripes, and come celebrate Atlanta’s rich and glorious soccer heritage with us!
