ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The dream of Atlanta United to extend their winning streak to two has ended in a nightmare against the home team Toronto FC at the BMO Field 1-2 on June 25. The home team played superbly in the entire game, taking a 1-0 lead in the first half.
The visiting United played with more fire and energy in the second half and cut to tie the score 1-1 after Brazilian scorer Luiz Araújo scored in the 57th minute. However, the home team was able to retake the lead in the 78th minute of the game.
To get back on its feet and start a new winning run, United will continue its road when they face the New York clubs, first against the New York Red Bulls on June 30, followed by a matchup against the reigning MLS Cup champion New York City FC on July 3. After their three successive games on the road, the team returns home on July 9 to face Austin FC.
