ATLANTA, GEORGIA—It would not be a surprise if the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the home of Atlanta United FC will be the host of the soccer World Cup in the future.
This scenario developed after the home of the United has taken the spotlight in the media as of late.
After hosting the biggest post-pandemic soccer crowd in the Mexico-Honduras scoreless draw game last June 12, the Mercedes-Benz Stadium will once again take the spotlight in the forthcoming futuristic movie of Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt.
According to reports, the widely popular soccer stadium is part of the opening scene of the soon-to-be-released movie “The Tomorrow War”.
Mercedes Benz stadium will play host to the 2022 World Cup final played between Brazil and France in the movie set to come out July 2 on Amazon Prime.
Forty soccer players from Georgia Revolution, an NPSL team based in McDonough were also tapped to play the role of soccer players in the film.
One of the highlights of the fictitious soccer game in the film is a bicycle kick perfectly executed by one of the actors in the film.
This early film is expected to be a box office success since its theme is all about mankind’s fight against some aliens in the future.
