ATLANTA, GEORGIA—Two players of Atlanta United are tapped to play for Venezuela for the September FIFA window, United star striker Josef Martinez and defensive specialist Ronald Hernandez are selected to play for Venezuela by interim manager Leonardo González Antequera.

In two friendlies against Iceland on September 22 and the United Arab Emirates on September 27, all of which will be held in Austria, Hernández, and Martnez will travel with Venezuela. For Venezuela, Hernández has made 30 appearances and has contributed one goal and three assists.

During the most recent cycle, he participated in 11 of Venezuela’s 16 World Cup Qualifiers and assisted in two of those contests. Martnez has 61 appearances in his career for Venezuela and has 13 goals and three helpers.
