Poland secured their spot in the 2024 UEFA European Football Championship with a win on Tuesday. Poland won the Path A final at Cardiff City Stadium, defeating Wales 5–4 on penalties to qualify for the Euros.

Bartosz Slisz, a midfielder for Atlanta United, started the Poland qualifying match and participated for the entire ninety minutes in addition to extra time. The 24-year-old, who played professionally in his native Poland before joining the 5-Stripes during the previous offseason, was born in Rybnik.

Poland defeated Estonia 5-1 on March 21 in the semifinal match. Slisz played the entire ninety minutes of the game.

The host country of Germany is set to host the UEFA Euro tournament from June 14–July 14, 2024. Twenty-four teams compete in the competition, which takes place every four years, for the title of European champions.

Along with Thiago Almada, Slisz is an Atlanta United player who helped his country’s national teams earn a spot in a major competition this summer. Almada led an Argentina U-23 team that earned a spot in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris earlier this year.
