Following an impressive 3-0 victory at home against Chicago Fire FC, Atlanta United is getting ready to travel to New York for their upcoming game. The 5-Stripes will play New York City FC at Citi Field on Saturday, April 6. For the 2024 campaign, the club hopes to record their first road victory.

Homegrown Caleb Wiley talked about the Sunday victory, what the team needs to do to get three points away from home, and what international play has taught him during his Tuesday interview with local media.

All three of Atlanta’s victories have occurred at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Caleb Wiley believes that in order for the 5-Stripes to win, consistency is essential.

“We are full of confidence right now,” said Wiley to local media. “Jamal (Thiaré) scoring two goals on his birthday; I am sure he is full of confidence. So, I think we are going to go there and have the same mindset we have had for every game. We are going for three points.”

Even though Wiley is only 19 years old, he has already established himself both nationally and within the Atlanta United system. During the March FIFA international window, he was called up along with six other Atlanta United players. in addition to one of the eleven MLS players selected for the Olympic training camp.

For Wiley, it was an eye-opening experience. He hopes to apply the knowledge and abilities he gained from playing with the men’s U-23 US team to his play in Atlanta.
