ATLANTA, GEORGIA—A youth soccer team based here has won the US Youth Soccer U17 Girls Southern Regional Championships last June 18-24 in Greenville, South Carolina.
CFC Red Star won the regional crown after beating Team Boca in the finals 7-0.
CFC Red Star got the slot in the finals after beating Tennessee SC in the semifinals 5-0.
With their championship, CFC Red Star is set to compete in the 2021 US Youth Soccer National Championships, July 20-25 in Sarasota, Florida.
The US Youth Soccer National Championship Series is the country’s most prestigious national youth soccer tournament, providing approximately 185,000 players on over 10,000 teams from US Youth Soccer State Associations the opportunity to showcase their soccer skills against the best competition in the nation while emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and fair play.
This year a total of 15 youth soccer teams from boys and girls divisions from Georgia soccer joined the regional tournament.
