Chattanooga FC continued its outstanding summer form with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Philadelphia Union II on Saturday night at Finley Stadium, stretching its unbeaten streak to eight matches and strengthening its push toward the MLS NEXT Pro playoffs.
Four different players found the back of the net as Ameziane Sid Mohand, Nathan Koehler, Damien Barker John, and Daniel Mangarov all contributed to one of CFC’s most complete performances of the season.
The win lifts Chattanooga FC to third place in the Eastern Conference with 37 points, providing another major boost in the race for postseason positioning.
Balanced Attack Powers Chattanooga FC
Philadelphia threatened early, forcing goalkeeper Eldin Jakupović into an excellent save to deny Eddy Davis.
That proved to be the visitors’ best opportunity.
Moments later, Jakupović turned defense into attack with a perfectly placed long ball that released Ameziane Sid Mohand behind the Philadelphia backline. The winger beat his defender one-on-one before firing confidently past goalkeeper Pierce Holbrook to open the scoring in the 12th minute.
The Boys in Blue doubled their advantage in the 37th minute through a historic connection.
A long throw from Tate Robertson found defender Nathan Koehler, whose powerful header found the back of the net for his first goal of the 2026 season. The assist marked Robertson’s 25th career assist, making him Chattanooga FC’s all-time assists leader, surpassing club legend Juan Hernandez.
Second Half Seals Statement Victory
Chattanooga wasted little time extending its lead after halftime.
A swift counterattack saw Daniel Mangarov deliver a perfectly weighted cutback to Damien Barker John, who calmly slotted home his seventh goal of the campaign in the 47th minute.
The fourth goal showcased Chattanooga’s composure in possession.
Following a patient passing sequence, Alex Krehl floated a precise cross into the box where Daniel Mangarov met it with a first-time volley to score his first league goal of the season and cap an outstanding team performance.
The hosts nearly made it five after Yuval Cohen won a penalty in the 82nd minute, but Holbrook guessed correctly to deny the substitute from the spot.
Historic Night for Robertson and Chattanooga FC
Saturday’s victory featured several memorable milestones.
Tate Robertson became Chattanooga FC’s all-time assists leader, further cementing his place among the club’s greatest players.
The clean sheet was equally impressive, with Jakupović finishing the evening with six saves while the defense kept Philadelphia scoreless despite facing 13 shots.
Interim head coach Richard Dixon praised his squad’s complete display after the final whistle.
“It was a good performance from the team all around. Playing at home is always special for us and we always want to make sure we protect our home. Scoring four goals and getting the shutout is big time for us, especially after a run where we’ve tied a lot of games. I’m really happy for the guys because they worked hard this week, so they deserve it.”
What’s Next for Chattanooga FC?
The Boys in Blue head south this week for a road clash against Inter Miami CF II on Friday, July 31, before returning to Finley Stadium on Saturday, August 8, for a highly anticipated Southeast Division showdown against Atlanta United 2 during CFC Youth Night.
With confidence soaring and the unbeaten streak now at eight matches, Chattanooga FC continues to establish itself as one of the hottest teams in MLS NEXT Pro.
