One day after a dramatic Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament final, Clayton State and Flagler College have secured places in the 2024 NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Tournament, marking another chapter in their competitive journeys.
Clayton State Lakers: #4 Seed in Super Region 2
Ranked #21 nationally, Clayton State earned the #4 seed in the Super Region 2 bracket, securing their seventh NCAA Tournament appearance and second consecutive berth. The Lakers had an impressive season, claiming the PBC regular-season title with an 8-1-1 league record and entering the postseason at 12-3-3 overall.
Thanks to their seeding, the Lakers will skip the opening round on November 22 and face #5 Converse in the second round on November 24. Last year, Clayton State reached the second round of the super regional, and they are poised for another deep run.
Flagler Saints: #10 Seed and PBC Champions
Flagler, riding high after their PBC Tournament championship, secured the #10 seed and will make their first NCAA appearance since 2013. This is the Saints’ sixth overall appearance in the tournament.
Flagler enters the postseason on a four-match win streak and remains unbeaten in their last six games, finishing the season at 12-4-3 overall and 6-3-1 in conference play. They will face #7 West Florida on November 22 in the opening round. A victory will set up a second-round matchup against #2 Lynn, who will host that section of the bracket.
