MORROW, Ga. – Seven Clayton State University women’s soccer players earned spots on the prestigious Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Team of Academic Distinction, presented by Barnes & Noble College. The announcement, made Wednesday morning, highlights the Lakers’ strong commitment to academic excellence and athletic performance.
Laker Honorees
The Lakers’ seven selections were part of the 70 honorees across the conference. Among the group, Trinity Chastain and Daniela Gularte earned their second consecutive PBC Team of Academic Distinction recognition. Meanwhile, Chloe Flannaghan, Samantha Giel, Jessica Fuentes, Lydia Madrid Sobreira, and Madison Nicolas received this honor for the first time in their careers.

About the Award
The PBC Team of Academic Distinction honors student-athletes who excel both in the classroom and on the field. To qualify, recipients must:
- Participate in at least half of their team’s games as a starter or significant contributor.
- Maintain a cumulative 3.50 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Complete at least one full academic year and reach sophomore athletic eligibility.
The program is overseen by the Peach Belt Conference sports communications professionals.
