Atlanta United announced today that forward Emmanuel Latte Lath has entered concussion protocol and will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis.
This development follows a hard collision while defending a set piece in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with the New York Red Bulls. Latte Lath, who started the match, was subbed off in the 68th minute after the incident.
The news is a tough blow for the 5-Stripes, as Latte Lath currently leads the team in scoring through the first three matches of the season. His availability for Sunday’s highly anticipated showdown against Inter Miami CF remains uncertain, but with an extra day for recovery, there’s still hope he could feature in the Sunday Night Soccer clash.
We’ll get a clearer update on Latte Lath’s status when head coach Ronny Deila addresses the media later this week.
For now, Atlanta United fans will be holding their breath, hoping their star forward can make a quick return. Stay tuned for updates.
