The No. 4 ranked Emory University men’s soccer team continued its dominant season with a 1-0 road victory over Case Western Reserve on Saturday afternoon, notching their seventh shutout and second UAA conference win of the season.
With the victory, the Eagles improved to 12-1-3 overall and 2-1-3 in conference play, keeping them firmly in national championship contention.
Logan Steren Breaks the Deadlock
It was a defensive chess match for much of the game, with both teams locked in a scoreless tie through the first 67 minutes. That changed when junior Logan Steren buried the match-winning goal in the 68th minute, capitalizing on a corner kick assist from graduate midfielder Jack Burgess.
Steren’s strike marked the Eagles’ third straight win over the Spartans and solidified their momentum heading into the final week of the regular season.

Offensively, Emory leads the nation in total shots and shots on goal, currently averaging 22.67 shots per game—a stat that reflects the team’s relentless attack across all 90 minutes.

Emory will close out the regular season next Saturday with a road test against Rochester, a critical conference matchup that could affect tournament seeding.
