Atlanta exercised their options on five players. Those five include forward Romario Williams, midfielders Julian Gressel and Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu, defender Mikey Ambrose, and goalkeeper Alec Kann. Defender George Bello and forwards Lagos Kunga and Patrick Okonkwo will join Andrew Carleton and Chris Goslin as the team’s Homegrown Players starting on January 1st, 2018.
Players Leaving
The team declined to pick up the options for goalkeeper Alex Tambakis, defenders Mark Bloom, Zach Loyd and Tyrone Mears, midfielder Harrison Heath, and forwards Kenwyne Jones and Jeffrey Otoo. Contracts that expired for goalkeeper Kyle Reynish and defender Bobby Boswell and were not renewed by the club.
