While our own Atlanta United 2 is recovering from that absolute 8-goal roller coaster against Chattanooga over the weekend, the rest of the MLS NEXT Pro Eastern Conference landscape is continuing to shift underneath our boots.
If you remember from our recent venue-change alert, Chicago Fire FC II had to ditch their usual suburban stomping grounds in Bridgeview due to a local festival conflict. Instead, they took over the tight, state-of-the-art grass at UIC Flames Field right in downtown Chicago. Turns out, the sudden change of scenery was exactly what the home side needed. On Sunday afternoon, Chicago utilized a beautifully balanced attack to secure a critical 3-1 victory over a struggling Inter Miami CF II squad.

In the 88th minute, captain Trip Fleming showcased supreme vision, orchestrating a gorgeous backheel pass directly into the center of the box. Winger Milan Napoe swallowed up the opportunity, firing an absolute rocket into the top netting to freeze the scoreboard at 3-1 and secure all three points for the Fire.

For those keeping tabs on the playoff race down here in Georgia, this out-of-town result adds some massive separation to the standings. The win propels Chicago up to 19 points on the season ($4\text{-}5\text{-}4\text{-}3$ record), helping them steady the ship after our boys shut them down 3-0 a couple of matchweeks back.
