ATLANTA, GEORGIA–For leading his team the Georgia State University Panthers men’s soccer team to its first win, senior striker George Proctor was named this week’s Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week.
Proctor scored on a penalty kick in the 75th minute and Georgia State held on for a 1-0 win over Mercer on Sunday night at Betts Stadium.
Proctor, the reigning Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year scored a goal in the third-straight regular season he played. The Panthers hope to extend their winning streak to two when they visit the USC Upstate on September 4 in Spartanburg, S.C., for a 7 p.m. match.
