ATLANTA, GEORGIA–Georgia State University Panthers men’s soccer senior striker George Proctor is ending 2021 on a happy note.
Proctor has made it to the top 100 soccer college players in the US based on the compilation of top drawer soccer websites. He is ranked number 78. Last November 18, Proctor was named the week’s Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week.
The senior soccer player got the honor for leading his team to a 1-0 NCAA Tournament win over Charlotte that day.
Proctor scored off the first-half set-piece and helped lead a backline that recorded their sixth shutout of the season. The All-MAC First Team member finished the year with five goals.
Proctor’s goal also gave the Panthers their first-ever NCAA Tournament win in program history.
On Sunday against No. 3-seed Georgetown, Proctor recorded multiple blocks to help keep the Hoyas off the board until the 69th minute. The Panthers eventually fell to Georgetown 2-0 in the Round of 32.
With Proctor’s help, Georgia State won 13 matches this year, tied for the sixth-most in program history. The Panthers also may be ranked in the final rankings for the first time in program history.
