The high school soccer scene in Georgia is heating up, and the latest rankings bring plenty of movement, surprises, and dominance from some of the state’s top teams. With intense competition across every classification, local squads are staking their claim as the best in the Peach State.
Hoyas Take Over as Harrison Tops Class 6A
Harrison made a statement Friday night, taking down then-No. 1 Archer in a gritty 1-0 showdown. That victory propelled the Hoyas to the top of the 6A rankings, knocking Archer down to No. 3. Norcross slides into the No. 2 spot, while Lambert and Carrollton round out the top five. Expect more battles ahead as Collins Hill, Grayson, Pebblebrook, Marietta, and North Atlanta make up a fiercely competitive top 10.
River Ridge Runs Class 5A, Roswell Remains Untouchable
River Ridge is riding an unbeaten streak (11-0) and continues to dominate Class 5A with a perfect 5-0 record in Area 6-5A. But the real powerhouse? Roswell. At 12-0, the Hornets are proving they may be the best team in Georgia, regardless of classification. While McIntosh, Johns Creek, Sprayberry, and Lassiter round out the 5A top five, Roswell remains in a league of its own.
4A Still Up for Grabs
Unlike 5A, the 4A title race is wide open. Dalton leads the charge, but with Marist, Westminster, Blessed Trinity, and St. Pius X lurking, anything can happen. Midtown re-enters the rankings after six straight wins, while Westminster, after four consecutive losses, drops out of the top 10. Expect fireworks as the season progresses!
Jefferson Takes Charge in 3A
The battle in 3A is fierce, but Jefferson has emerged as the new No. 1 after taking down Dawson County and Oconee County. The Dragons are proving their championship pedigree, while Lumpkin County, Harlem, and Sandy Creek continue to rise through the ranks.
Social Circle and Model Dominate in Class A-DI
Two teams have separated themselves in Class A-DI: Social Circle and Model, who boast a combined 19-1 record. While Toombs County and Woodville-Tompkins fall out of the rankings, Lamar County and Swainsboro step in, looking to make their own runs toward the top.
Trion Takes Over Class A-DII
Class A-DII has been a slugfest, but Trion is now the team to beat after Towns County’s loss to Lake Oconee Academy. With a tight pack of top-tier squads, this classification is setting up for a thrilling finish.
Atlanta-Area Private Schools Battle for Supremacy
Hebron Christian cracks the top 10 for the first time this season in the new private school classification, while Savannah Arts and Greater Atlanta Christian continue to set the pace at the top. The fight for No. 1 is far from over!
