The University of Georgia soccer team has reached a new academic milestone, as five players were named to the 2024 Academic All-District Women’s Soccer Team by College Sports Communicators.

Graduate midfielders Nicole Vernis and Tori Penn, graduate forward Hannah White, senior defender Jessie Dunn, and sophomore defender Kiera Staude were honored for their exceptional performances on the field and in the classroom. The five honorees surpass the program’s previous record of four, achieved in 2011, 2022, and 2023.

This brings the total number of Academic All-District selections in Georgia soccer history to 25. Notably, Dunn, Penn, and Vernis each earned their second career All-District honor.

Staude and Vernis were also nominated for the 2024 Academic All-America Team, which will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 11. Georgia soccer has a proud history of academic excellence, with seven players previously earning All-America honors.

The recognition reflects the Bulldogs’ commitment to academic and athletic excellence, setting a standard for future teams to follow.
