Liberty struck first just after the break, with Gora Gora finding the back of the net in the 46th minute to put the Flames up 1-0. But Georgia State wasn’t backing down.
Four minutes later, Gustavo Marques stepped up and slotted home the Panthers’ first goal of the season, leveling the match at 1-1. The momentum shifted, and in the 72nd minute, Matthew Taylor broke the deadlock with a clinical finish, assisted by Justin McLean’s pinpoint pass. The Panthers’ defense held firm for the remaining minutes, securing a gutsy 2-1 victory.
