GSU Scores Tie, Two Losses

Georgia State University (GSU) scored a tie and had some losses over the weekend.
For the first time this season, the women’s soccer team ended their game in a tie, battling through two overtimes to finish with a 1-1 score against UT Martin.
The Panthers (3-3-1) battled the Skyhawks (2-4-2) for almost two and half hours, their longest match of the season. Whitney Ravan scored Georgia State’s only goal of the game in the 19th minute of the first half.
In football, Georgia State fell to UTSA, 38-14, Saturday night at the Georgia Dome.
Albert Wilson had three 100-yard receiving games a year ago. Saturday, the Georgia State wide receiver got his first in 2012. Wilson caught six passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns for the Panthers.

Georgia State remained winless at 0-3, while UTSA improved to 3-0.

And the men’s soccer team dropped a tough 2-0 match at Mercer on Sunday night.
The Panthers managed 10 shots total including five on goal for the match but couldn’t come up with a score to make cut the deficit to one goal. The Panthers ripped eight shots in the second half including four in the last 10 minutes looking for their first tally.
GSU falls to 3-3-0 on the year while the Bears improve to 4-2-1.
